Change the method of engraving July 12, 2011
"I read the previous reviews and decided to take a chance. I ordered (5) engraved sets for direct reports as a small token of appreciation. I received the sets just a few days after ordering. I opened each set and found gold dust from the engraved names on the box and in the plastic wrapper. I had to wipe down the sets before presenting them."

"The case and writing utensils are nice enough, and the actual engraving is fine. But when I opened the case, I noticed a lot of "dust" inside. When I wiped it off, I discovered that it was actually the gold paint used to fill the engraved letters! And when I wiped down the case with a damp rag (to get the dust off of the outside) the paint in the case letter engraving smeared off, leaving some areas inside the letters bare down to the wood! Using water based paint that powders once it dries....nice. Definitely below par for PC - I have bought some great gifts from them in the past. Unless you are REALLY GOOD at filling 1/8" tall engraved letters with model paint, I would take a pass on this item."
