beautiful stitching but poor quality blanket - does not wash well - frays more and ends get tangled

"I loved the throw when it arrived - the stitching looked beautiful and the throw itself looked cozy. I had bought this for my mother for her birthday and before sending it to her in the UK I took it out of it's packaging in order to check it thoroughly. When I did I found that it had an unpleasant odor so decided to wash it. I checked the washing instructions and carefully washed it in the delicate cycle as directed. When I took it out of the washer I almost cried because the fringes on each end had frayed further and become tangled. It took me 2 and a half hours to get it looking halfway decent again - I had to untagle and even cut some of the threads off because the sides were not finished correctly in order to prevent further fraying. I still sent the throw to the UK as it looked ok once dry again but overall I probably would not purchase another one for other family members as I had originally thought to do. So overall - a bit disappointed in the quality of the throw itself."
