"I have seen cups that operate on this principle but this one seemed really cheap. You can see the flames on the cup when it is empty and they are just more visible when hot water is added. If it wasn't personalized I would definitely have sent it back. I was actually kind of embarrassed to give it."

"I am always looking for new and / or different items for gift giving! I had a friend turn 50, which meant some gag gifts were needed to celebrate this birthday. This mug can be personalized (which I like), and then it has candles painted onto the mug. And, when you pour a hot beverage into the mug, the heat from the beverage will light up the candles. We seemed to have alot of fun with this at the party! This item was something different than what the stores carry, so I knew no one else would get her one which was also a plus. It's a fun and a great gift idea and will order again."
